Is your iPhone showing “Activating…” for a long time, followed by an eSIM activation failure message? Do not rush to delete the profile or scan the QR code again. This message does not always mean the eSIM profile failed to install.
First, open Settings → Cellular and check whether the new eSIM appears. If it does, keep it installed. Your next steps depend on whether you are already in a country covered by your plan. Menu names can vary with your iOS version and language.
Installing an eSIM profile and connecting to a mobile network are separate steps. During installation, the phone downloads the profile over the internet and saves it on the device. You can use Wi-Fi or mobile data from another SIM for this. To use your purchased plan's mobile data, the eSIM must connect to a supported network in a country or region covered by the plan.
If you install a travel eSIM before your trip, a supported network may not yet be available. For example, a plan covering only Turkey is not intended to provide mobile data in Russia. Before arrival, the phone may show “Activating…” and then an activation failure message even though the profile has appeared in Settings.
The message alone does not establish the exact cause or confirm that the plan is ready to use. First check the profile, then coverage and settings. It is not evidence of an iOS defect, and not every activation failure should be treated as harmless.
The line's label may differ from the destination or package name. Look for the new line that appeared after installation. If you cannot identify which SIM belongs to your purchase, contact support.
A new line confirms that the profile appears on the phone; it does not confirm a network connection. Do not delete it or start another installation just because an activation failure message appeared. Reinstallation depends on the particular eSIM's terms. Do not assume the same QR code will necessarily work again.
Apple also advises against deleting an eSIM to troubleshoot a problem unless your carrier tells you to.
If the new eSIM appears in Settings but you are still outside its coverage area, a lack of connection alone does not indicate a fault. Keep the installed profile. You can leave this line turned off before travelling and use your usual SIM or Wi-Fi.
However, turning off the line does not pause your plan's validity period. Check the billing-start condition on the plan card: it may be first installation or first network connection. You can check the purchased package's validity and status in your eSIM account.
We recommend installing your eSIM at home in advance, with a stable internet connection, following the installation guide. Check the billing-start condition separately.
Once you are in a country covered by your selected package:
Enable data roaming for the travel eSIM. Your main SIM can remain available for regular calls and SMS; its use abroad is subject to your home carrier's terms.
If it does not connect, follow the checks below. Do not delete the profile as your next step.
Check the settings and package conditions in order:
If the phone has a network connection but no internet access, check the APN against the details in your email or account. Use your own plan's values rather than settings found at random online. The eSIM.bar installation guide includes the relevant settings paths.
Toggling Airplane Mode, checking the line and restarting the device are included in Apple's guidance for eSIM setup problems. If these checks do not help, contact support and keep the profile installed.

You can reach us through the eSIM.bar Telegram bot. Provide your iPhone model, iOS version, current country and the exact error message, along with a screenshot. Share order details privately with support.
Do not delete the eSIM or install its QR code on another phone while waiting for support. If you have already deleted the profile, mention this: recovery options need to be checked for your particular eSIM.
